Behind the Seams: The Obedience Article Bag

In D2K9-land, it is a crime to walk into any public setting without gear that matches your dog’s/your team’s aesthetic. Sitting ring-side at the obedience trial this past weekend, looking around at the plethora of drab, monotonous, square Utility article bags, it became clear that I was actually in prison. This would simply not do.

Mixie would have a fabulous article bag. We were trialing in Novice, but heck, a girl can dream. It would be more than just a functional holder for scent articles, it would match his meaning in my life. I started with dandelion cork. Dandelions were his predecessor’s favorite flower, a symbol of rebirth, being reborn, starting anew. They are hardy little plants, dandelions. Small flecks of sunshine in an evergreen yard. And Remix (Mixie) is an embodiment, a revamped version, of his predecessor.

Turns out, I wasn’t alone in this need. A long-time admirer reached out with a dream when she learned I could make bags… She needed a dedicated, organized, and beautifully made article bag. And as someone who trials in obedience too, I got it. This design is lightweight, easy to clean, has an optional divider panel to separate hot and cold articles, deep pockets for your gloves, and, as everything here at D2K9, made to match your ring-ready aesthetic.
